One dead from two-vehicle crash in Clark County

EFFINGHAM, IL – A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 44-year-old person on U.S. Route 40 in Effingham Friday. 

A car hit the rear of a motorcycle due to speeding, according to WESI FREEDOM. The impact of the collision caused a motorcycle passenger to be thrown from the vehicle. As a result, the passenger succumbed to their injuries and was declared dead at the scene. 

The motorcycle passenger was identified as Tosha Y. Davis. 

The person who operated the motorcycle was Joseph B. Roseberry of Indiana. 

Roseberry suffered severe injuries. 

The driver of the car was identified as Austin S. Lowery, 25, of Martinsville. 

It is unclear what injuries Loewy sustained, as he declined medical attention.
