Narrative
NEAR COLUMBIA, IL – A tow truck driver, a 57-year-old man, died after getting hit by a car while responding to a disabled vehicle along the I-255 shoulder near Columbia Wednesday. This crash happened on the southbound lanes around 10:15 a.m. The tow truck driver, who was identified as Wade Bivins, an East Carondelet resident, succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. The driver who struck Bivins remained at the scene. There have been no mentions of pending charges.
