Narrative
PALATINE, IL – A motorcyclist was killed after he hit the back of a semi-truck on the 200 block of North Northwest Highway after 1 a.m. Thursday. Palatine Police said the semi-truck driver was exiting a private driveway when the motorist was struck. The motorcyclist, an unidentified 50-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The portion of the highway between North Hicks Road and East Hicks Place was shut down for several hours and reopened by 7:30 a.m.
