DECATUR, IL – A 73-year-old man was sent to the hospital after he was struck by an SUV driver while riding his electric bike at East Cantrell Street and South 16th Street Tuesday. The collision happened before 6:45 a.m. The cyclist did not wear a helmet and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The SUV driver – a 43-year-old man – was not reported to be hurt. It is unclear if he will face charges.
