Narrative

Two people died following a two-vehicle crash on Illinois 130 near 300 N in Charleston around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, February 13th. Illinois State Police said for reasons unknown, northbound Traffic Unit 1 crossed the center lines and collided with southbound Traffic Unit 2. Both drivers succumbed to fatal injuries. The drivers’’ names and genders were not released as of yet. Although, officials said the Sonta driver was a 47-year-old adult from Matton, and the Highlander driver was a 50-year-old from Fairfield.
