15-year-old cyclist gets hit by Glenview Train, dies

GLENVIEW, IL – A 15-year-old cyclist died after an Amtrak train hit him before 7 pm Friday, ABC 7 Chicago reported. Authorities identified the boy as Ryan McDonagh of Northbrook, who was struck by a North Glenview Station train at 2301 Lehigh Ave. The train hit him at a pedestrian crossing. The 178 passengers on the train were unharmed. McDonagh’s death was ruled an accident. Semi-truck crash kills motorcyclist in Elk Grove Village

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill – A semi-truck collision left a 33-year-old motorcyclist dead in Elk Grove Village Tuesday morning, WGNTV said. The crash, under investigation, occurred around 8 am on Busse Road and Touhy Avenue. Elk Grove Village Police are uncertain about the cause of the crash. However, they did say the semi-truck driver, a 54-year-old woman from South Carolina woman, managed to crash into the motorcyclist from Arlington Heights. Dump Truck flips over on I-90 in Hoffman Estates

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – A dump truck flipped over on the I-90 in Hoffman Estates Monday afternoon, according to CBS News. Illinois State Police said the crash occurred at 1:57 pm a mile from the Route 59 exit. The cab of the truck separated from the trailer. Video footage from a helicopter showed how the separation happened and pieces of shattered concrete outside of the truck. Police did not release further details of the collision. 3 injured in SUV I-294 crash, vehicle bursts into flames

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL – Three people sustained injuries due to a crash that took place on the 1-294 around 1 am Thursday, ABC7 Chicago reports.  An SUV was coming from Halsted Street to the I-294. For some unknown reason, the driver lost control of the wheel and hit a tollbooth, which caused the vehicle to flip over, Illinois State Police said.
