Narrative
GRANT PARK, IL – A 31-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman succumbed to fatal wounds after their vehicles collided head-on Monday.
This crash happened on Illinois Route 1 when the man — Ricky Castillo from Grant Park — drifted off the southbound lanes and into the northbound ones, leading him to hit a 2018 Ford Edge with his 2009 Ford Fusion.
The Fusion caught on fire, and Castillo and the Edge motorist — Penelope Manthey from Crete — passed away after midnight.
