Narrative
TUSCOLA, IL – Two people were sent to the hospital, and a 59-year-old man died in a three-vehicle wreck on U.S. 36 after 3 p.m. Monday. Illinois State Police said the 59-year-old man operating a 2023 Jeep Gladiator had drifted off the center lines and sideswiped a truck before colliding with an SUV head-on. The Jeep driver succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. The SUV driver was airlifted to hospital for life-threatening injuries, and the truck driver was transported by ground to a medical facility for non-life-threatening injuries. Police closed Route 36 in both directions before reopening it five hours later.
