CHICAGO, IL – A multi-vehicle collision at the 4300 block of North Mannheim Road left three injured and one dead Thursday night.
FOX 32 Chicago said the crash occurred around 9:35 pm near O’Hare Airport.
According to Chicago Police, the collision happened because a Honda Civic driver did not stop at a red light and made a left turn, which caused the vehicle to collide with several cars.
Police did not reveal the Honda Civic driver’s name, but they did say the driver was a 59-year-old man who had another passenger with him in the car.
The Honda Civic passenger and driver both suffered life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized at Lutheran General Hospital. The driver survived, but the 30-year-old passenger died there.
In addition, a 3-year-old boy and a man sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lutheran General.
Chicago detectives are investigating the case, and police issued citations.
