2 tractor-trailer crash on I-294 in Cook County kills 26-year-old man

COOK COUNTY, IL – A two tractor-trailer crash left a 26-year-old man dead on I-294 in Cook County Thursday morning, the Daily Herald reported.

The collision happened before 9:20 am. A tractor-trailer collided with a tractor-trailer on the right side of the road. It managed to hit a concrete median barrier.

Police said one tractor-trailer driver was killed. The man was Iliyan Shopski, 26, of Des Plaines. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Police did not specify which driver Shopski was. The other driver in the collision suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

It is unclear if citations were issued. The case is under investigation.
